EVERY yes EVERY Wednesday The Core gets the local Groms and Grom-ettes together to do events ranging from Backyard Skate Comps to Desert Cook offs. They have weekly, monthly and yearly prizes ranging from a slap on the head to cold hard cash!

This alternative group is the epitome of social strength giving kids and young adults a fun environment to be themselves and just enjoy being a kid. I've watched The Core for the last five or MORE years donate endless hours to the kids around the Pleasure Point area of S.C. and could not be more proud to hook G.S.I. up with such a selfless group. We are a perfect fit.

The contest day saw everything from fog, wind, no wind, sunshine and everything in between. Our company mantra "Life is Better When You Surf" was alive and in 3D at this event as it has been since the inception. The new shirts and stickers helped drive it home for sure. Peter Mel ran the microphone like he was on Fuel T.V. and Jason "Ratboy" Collins reminded the pro am division the difference between PRO and Am by surfing the small waves like Tom Curran at 8’ J-Bay then donating his board to the Junior champ.

These kids make their own trophies every year out of old toys and scraps laying around then vote on the place and divisions.

This year on trophy making night we decorated the GSI boards that were donated and everyone had a blast from start to finish."
