The lucky winners were Christopher Allen from New Jersey, USA and Laurence Smith from New South Wales, Australia.

    SUPS (stand up paddle surfing) founder Chris de Aboitiz and Eugene "Woogie" Te Manu Marsh attempt the first ever stand-up paddle circumnavigation of Fraser Island, the world's largest sand island and world heritage site. A total of 300 kilometers paddled in six 50k stages.
    Why? The paddlers will be attempting to raise money for DSAA (Disabled Surfers Association Australia). As a forerunner/launch event to the Global Surf Industries 2008 Noosa Festival of Surfing, the paddling marathon will also draw attention to the waterman and charity aspects of the festival.

    The Noosa Festival of Surfing is one of the best surf festivals in the world.
    The festival is held by the Noosa Mal club who have been putting it on for a number of years. This year for the first time a major events company – USM Events – is going to be organising it.

    This year for the first time there will be more than just surfing going on. There will be a Surf Expo and Surf Village, this will give everyone who attends the opportunity to see the latest in surfing related equipment and goods on display and for sale. The Village will provide a great meeting place to hang out at the end of every day. Nightly entertainment as well as great promotions will take place here every day. Global Surf Industries is going to give away $10,000 worth of surfboards over the 6 nights the village will be open so make sure you get there.
