Stoked with my new Superfish - I got the 6'6 epoxy, have ridden it in all conditions and the board just keeps surprising me. I weigh 95 kg's - the 6'6 floats and paddles awesome, I maybe could have got the 6'3 but stoked with how loose and fast the board is. Easily the best all round board in my quiver.... good job .. I have now surfed my 7S super fish 6'3” in most conditions. Big round hollow beach, small fast point, sloppy punchy beach break etc. I have tried it as a quad (MR twin up front and M5's at back), traditional thruster (M5 and PC 5) and a 2 +1 set up (MR Twin and gs trailer). And I must say every one works. It’s like having 3 different boards that all cook rolled into one. I have a number of boards and I can honestly say this is taking the front seat. The Buoyancy is great which allows me to catch virtually anything I paddle for. I also went for the Epoxy model as I do find I am hard on my boards and with a few surfs on the board there is not a single mark. I can see the board lasting ages which to me is great for the environment. Very big thumbs up to you guys as 7S. Very Stoked Bryan

..this is a long term update to my prior review. I have surfed this epoxy now, continually all thru last summer, all winter and again into this current 09/10 summer. There is still not a dent or mark on it. It has weathered all kinds of situations and could be sold as new. What I want to stress is that this machine is an awesome larger wave stick. I still have the same 2 MR fins with a trailing small rear. This combo handles very large Wedge or North Av. lumps and NEVER falters. The buoyancy allows me early access into the drop and Im flying early. The only downside of the bouyancy is that I have to rely on my leash if I get caught paddling inside..I just check if anyone is behind me if I have to bail. In fact..if its small, I leave it at home. Its no surprise several others have purchased 7S based on what its seen to be doing. I frequently hear the comment...."you got the right stick for today"...even if it is made in Thailand...haha. PS..not really sure of the month I purchased it.

researched over 3months for the "perfect" board. a board that didnt just go in slop....didnt just go in head high...a board that was an average all around board. mostly looking at progressive/hybrid fish type boards. came across the Youtube vido of Matt talking about the Superfish. I live in hawaii...plethora of shapers to ask questions. they all said the design advances that GSi put into the superfish were great, good ideas. i showed my friend Jay...he immediatly bought the 5'9" epoxy...jerk hahah. i proceeded to borrow his board and take it everywhere i could and test it out. i am 6'5" tall and push a good 195-200 lbs. No 5'9" on this planet could support my weight...except the superfish. This board is phenomenal...overhead pictchy barreling waves? no prob....2 foot slop? sure why not. whoops...i paddled out in 3 foot surf and it jumped to way overhead...why paddle in ? this board just goes and goes and goes. its a freakin rocket...makes any section..punchy...easy hacks. since i can surf a board so small my hacks and cut backs have got new meaning. i cant say enough about this board. i sold 3/4 of my quiver. bought the 6'0" epoxy. no matter wher ei take this board. whether its the north shore 10 -12 foot faces or the south shore on a double over toe maybe ankle high waves :) it just performs. only time in my life that i will purchase a brand new board. not only that...the epoxy is darn near indestructable. its great. helped me reach a new level of surfing and continues to make my session s more fun . its almost to easy...i feel like im being lazy. rarely pumping for speed on anything bigger then chest high. just point the nose and hold on. especially if you set it up quad... holy crap its fast. bite the bullet and buy this epoxy. all though i will say its more of an intermediate board. after youve surfed a funboard to the point of boredom...then switch to this board. you switch to early and you may blame the board for low wave counts and bad rides...you have to build those skills up before you go small. just my 2 cents.

Well, after a long wait for what i researched and decided would be the perfect board for me the 8' superfish XL epoxy. i finally got to own and ride it . and it is fantastic!! , very bouyant, and strong, however i expected it to be a little lighter - it weighed in at 7.2 kg and the fibreglass equivalent that Caloundra Beachbeat very kindly loaned me (thanks Mark and John) while i waited for the epoxy model was only 7 kg. i am 175cm and 95kg of 42 y.o rippling hair and muscle ; ) It is fast enough to get me around the sections and almost catches waves by itself, i have it set up as a thruster as per utube link on the GSI site. bigger outerfins and a small centre. it could be called corky as it wants to tip you "off out the back" and i have felt it skip once on the face of a wave but larger fins will fix that if i get into 4'+. but all things considered i am now carving like never before and i have confidence in the strength and durability of the board (having snapped 2 mals this year) and would be happy to call it a 1 board quiver that i believe will last for years. Thanks for a great product guys you have probably prolonged my surfing habit for a few more years at least. Gibbo.

I thought I had already done a review but cant see it? Anyhow, like to say that this stick has saved my arse this summer in Sydney!! Its a regular skateboard and super light in the water plus a dream to paddle. I have configured it with 2 MR big twins with a small trailing fin. This combo is super loose with mega side grip for rail drives on critical walls. I regularly out paddle many longboarders back into the lineup, then burn them on the face if they happen to drop in. Been using this non stop all summer and not a mark or dent on it! Its a great build. This epoxy is a great part of my quiver that includes all types of craft including some hot custom Webbers that GSI is also distributing.
