7S EPOXY SUPER FISH XL BOARD INFO
The Super Fish XL was designed because of the constant feedback we got from Surf Shops saying bigger surfers and Longboards wanted to get on but the 6'3" was too small. So we introduced the three larger sizes. The feedback has been sensational.
Depending on your size everyone can ride a Super Fish XL. The 6'8" for people around the 75kg / 165lb mark, the 7'3" for people between that and 95kg / 210lb mark. Over that you will be looking at the 8'0".
When you ride this board you will find that it paddles quickly because of the step deck. You can take late drops that you couldn't on a Longboard and you will do bottom turns like you haven't done for years.
We are offering the entire Super Fish range in our full Epoxy/Wood technology. Our Epoxy/Wood construction has been developed over the past few years. We have worked with the internal lay up of the boards to include a .6mm layer of wood veneer to enhance the performance of the board whilst still allowing the board to maintain some flex. The outer shell is strong and will give you much more durability. This year (2010) we are introducing the 6'6 in the Epoxy range as well.
The Super Fish is a phenomenon! It is loved by thousands of surfers around the world who have bought one since we launched the board a couple of years ago. The secret to the success of the Super Fish is in its design. the most obvious one is the step deck, this gives the board a huge buoyancy advantage but leaves the board with high performance rails.
Secondly the bottom of the board features low entry rocker that feeds into a full length concave that helps the board get up and plane quickly. This feeds through to a double in the back to help get the most out of turns. the Super Fish will help you make sections that you never have before, it is fast and smooth. the 6'6 Super Fish has been introduced to bridge the gap between the Super Fish and the Super Fish XL.

CONSUMERS REVIEWS FOR THE EPOXY SUPER FISH XL

Gerald LaHay from NJ, USA says:

I recently went on a surf trip to Nosara, Costa Rica. We didn't pack boards. Costa has so many surf shops and boards now that it is easier to rent then travel with your own. It only cost $120.00 for the week. I switched boards 3 times no charge. I started out w/ a 7'6 pintail but the tail was small. I paddled to the far outside left in front of the big palm tree and dropped in on an outside clean up set for my first wave. It was way overhead & fast, real fast. I made the drop but had no power off the bottom turn and realized I need a more board. I traded up to a Stewart 8'6 pintail, real narrow and gunny, but no nose rocker. So It could drop in on anything but you had to be on the tail. It had a longer distance from the back fin to the tail so it really drove off the bottom turns and had tons of speed. The only problem was that after 3 waves I couldn't punch it thru to the outside again and was getting pummeled on the inside white water. Back to the shop again and traded to a 7'3 Super Fish. Perfecto! Small enough to duck dive, but big and fast enough to drop in on anything and still generate speed down the line. So much speed that when I went to pull off the back of the waves I was popping Hugh aerial pull outs. I never rode a fish before, but I think I am going to be adding this to my quiver, but smaller for the East Coast. pics @ link below! http://sjsurfingandwatersports.blogspot.com/2010/04/so-you-wanna-surfcentro-america-part-i.html ps. while renting a board you are always concerned about damaging the board and having to buy it, especially when the surf is big and guys are snapping long boards in half. The Strong construction of the 7S Super Fish XL Epoxy....put my mind at easy and allowed me to really surf hard and not have that uneasy feeling of breaking a board anymore. Perfect travel board!

Warwick from WA, Australia says:

I'm 6'4 and 97kg, I spent about two months flogging an old 9'1 before I finally trashed it learning to pop. Picked up the 8 foot epoxy and immediately made noticeable progress. I've been very happy with the board, the pop is sorted, even took it to Bali. Due to its volume, its tough to duck white water, greenies no problem. Just waiting for the summer doldrums to end so I can try it on some real waves.

Luis R. from Panama, Panama says:

Overall amazing board. I am 6 ft tall and 110kg, and had been surfing an 8 ft 2 in McCoy Nugget. I had my reservations about 7 ft 3 in Super Fish considering the difference in size and volume, so it was a bit of a leap of faith to get it. The results have been incredible. The board paddles incredibly well, even for a guy mi size, although it can be sketchy while paddling into steeper waves. Peformance is through the roof. It really allowed to improve my surfing from the first time I used it. I found myself travelling at speeds I thought I would never reach, passing under and over sections, turning like a hot knife through butter and throwing the tail around with incredible ease. Would definetly recommend it to bigger guys as their "short" alternative, it feels like a big fast skateboard to me.

Darren from NSW, Australia says:

Have had this board for 4 months now. I am 90Kg and got the 7'3" Epoxy, and love it. I already have a 9' mal, and a 6' fish, and wanted something in between. After reading the reviews, I went for what the site recommended for my weight, and am very happy with the board. I am your average surfer, that surfs several times a week around the Gold Coast / NSW Tweed coast and have tried it out in all sizes in the great swell weve had so far in 2009. I was not sure about going epoxy as it has various reviews, but I find it rides just as well as fibreglass, yet it lighter, paddles easier, and does not have a mark in it. I find I catch more waves than ever with how quick this paddles, as it paddles just as easy as my 9' mal, yet has the fun part of being like a much shorter board. I have the fins set up as a quad, but will try a thruster when I get around to it. Overall, I would highly recommend this board to anybody who just likes to get out and have fun.

shayne from nsw, australia says:

i purchased my 6 8 epoxy xl after listening to the videos on them.they were spot on with the performance of these boards they will blow your mind turns so sweet and smooth responsive off the top and bottom speed oh my god speed it will leave you behind if your not ready.quad set up gives the board real direct cutting turns .cant get the smile off my face.a word of advice im 90kg probably should have gone for 7 3 for more paddle power 6 8 doesnt paddle to well with that weight my mate is 70kg paddles it like a rocket.go get one you wont regret it

Paul Ziems from Queensland, Australia says:

I have ridden my 7s epoxy super fish in some seriously good waves 6' down to some serious average waves of barely no size. There are a number of things you will find these boards do, 1 ease of paddle, 2 excellent reaction in all kinds of surf, speed, well speed is there to burn, the other is this board will ask ?'s of you. Like that move you would like to try that you saw in a mag or surf movie, try it these 7s super fish boards are designed for fun and they will do that as well improve your suring.

Robert Poirier from Mass, uSA says:

Great board transitioning from 8'6" LB So easy to ride the first day. Catches eveything from knee to waist beachbreak windswell to head + points.

Paul Ziems from Queensland, Australia says:

I got my 7S Super Fish XL Epoxy from Board Culture here on the Gold Coast they gave me a great deal. While yet to be tested in some serious sized waves i have ridden this on shoulder high beach breaks with not much water over the sandbar and this board is unbelievable. Very quick to paddle deffinately increases the wave count, fast off the bottom actually it's fast with every movement. Very responsive both on the wave face it's only limitation at this point is me as the surfer. Heaps of fun to ride and you can't help but smile. I have come from a 7'4" mini mal to a 6'8" quad super fish epoxy and it leaves the mini mal for dead in these same conditions. I can't say enough about this board well done guys on an excellent design. I will leave more feedback after we get a decent swell. Board Culture on the Gold Coast provided excellent service and answered all my questions, thanks Adam. Cheers and all the best for 2009. Go get wet. Radish

robbi Luscombe-Newman from nSW, australia - Oceania says:

My new epoxy 6'8" is a very slick and well produced model. The finish is excellent...a class act. I have it set up as a twin fin with MR fins plus a tiny trailing fin. This is super loose and fluid. I actually prefer this board in larger waves. Its a very easy paddler and picks up waves with hardly any effort. A great stick in any quiver....well done guys.

Jeff from NSW, Australia says:

I picked one of these new Epoxy Super Fish XLs up after I saw the ad in Pacific Longboard Mag. I am pretty rough on boards so I thought this construction might help me get some more value for my money. The shop I got it from had a demo which I rode. My fibreglass Super Fish was a 7'3" but I am now riding a 6'8" the epoxy model has some extra buoyancy which allows me to go smaller. I love the quad set up it really allows the board to go faster I reckon. Funny but a year ago I thought I was set to only ride longboards, now I a riding a frikken 6'8!!!! Fantastic design guys, well done.
