7S Wave Magnet
Find a dealer
The 7S Wave Magnet is a functional thruster designed for big guys who want to catch a ton of waves and maximize their performance in conditions ranging from 2 to 10 feet.

The bottom contours on this board are designed purely for speed. Slight vee through the nose runs into a proven single to double concave that allows you push hard through turns while enhancing the overall manoeuvrability of the board.

The Wave Magnet has a relaxed rocker and features additional volume under the chest that extends out to a full rail. This lets you get into waves really early and flow over flat sections.

The template is also quite refined for a board of this size. The tapered nose is great for steep drops and the narrow pintail allows you to perform a longer carve, especially in larger surf.

The Wave Magnet is available in traditional Poly construction with added fibreglass to ensure durability and strength. This versatile board will catch waves with ease and ride with speed.

  • Polyester (PU)
Polyester or PU construction uses traditional materials and laminating techniques to produce a strong, reliable surfboard with high quality finishes. All polyester boards are CNC milled from the shapers files and laminated by hand using quality components such as Hexcel fiberglass, Silmar resin and Bennett foam.
For years traditional polyester boards have been at the forefront of performance surfing. These boards feature a progressive flex pattern controlled by a high-grade timber stringer and feel very reliable under your feet. Polyester construction will perform in all surf conditions and can be adapted to suit a wide variety of surfboard models.

I bought a 7'6" Wave Magnet about 8 months ago and it really performs great. I was looking for a big guy tri board that is easy to paddle and catches waves easily. It is stable, turns with flow and ease, but not overly snappy. I use it twice a week and it is still in perfect shape. After about 50+ uses no dings or obvious pressure marks. A great board and I would highly recommend it !!

I've traded down in size from an 8'5" mini mal to the 8.0' Wave Magnet thruster. This board is heaps easier to catch waves & very fast. I'm catching 3 times as many waves & is much easier to paddle out through breaking waves. I'm not getting down to the beach as often as I would like, so I'm not surfing-fit & hence why I was drawn to the 64 litre volume. At 6'1" .... 93kg & 52 years young, this board is going to last me a while, & I may even be in danger of once again being surfing-fit! The packing & delivery of the board was impressive, & is a great looking shape. If you are fit & similar weight to me, I'd also consider the 7'6" version.

I had stagnated riding just Mals for the past 10 years and after a failed mal selection/purchase, I decided I wanted a shorter board to liven things up on those bigger/steeper days. Tony from Kuta Lines set about helping me find a board that worked well for me (thank you for your patience and perseverance.) I finally bought an 8ft Wave Magnet. Wow! I Love this board, the Wave Magnet is fast, responsive and gets me into some tight spots. ALL this = max :-) In short it well exceeded my expectations and has rejuvenated my surfing. A big THANKS to 7s, GSI, Kuta Lines and especially Tony. Job well done

I've been riding a longboard for last 5 years. I am 50yo, and weigh 105kg. I needed a "shortboard" for an Indo trip and found the wave magnet. I wanted a board with similar width under my chest to the longboard, and plenty of volume, but with a nice rounded pin template. I was going to order the 7'6", but Danny in Maroubra talked me into the 8'0" when I called to ask some questions. This board was the best equiptment choice I have made. It floated me, I could get into the indo lefts early to set my bottom turn, and it absolutely flies. It didn't feel like 8' at all, and you can put everything into the turns. Duckdiving no problems. Only suggestion, I changed to fibreglass fins. Can really recommend.

Just had my first surf on the 7'6" wave magnet, perfect off-shore and it went great. I bought the 8' magnet 6 months ago and it has been a fantastic board. I just got so many waves on that board I couldn't believe it. The thing that really makes these boards go so well besides the classic rounded pin shape is the v in the bottom. These boards can really generate momentum when you are paddling into bigger waves and the glide they produce just wants to make them drop over the edge. I wrote a review a couple of years ago about how much I loved the 7S 7'3" Superfish XL that got me back into surfing after 15 years out of the water. I outgrew that board because as I rapidly improved and started surfing bigger steeper waves the fuller nose and flatter rocker got me into trouble on late drops and in hollow waves. When you read guys rave about the Super Fish XL and how it catches waves then you should try the Wave Magnet. The 8'er especially paddles with little effort ( doesn't push any water ) and gets onto waves as easy as Super Fish XL's but is much more at home when the waves get 6' plus and hollow. These pintails will handle double overhead no trouble. I am keeping my 8 footer and I reckon I will buy the 7'2" before the year is out as well. I read a review that was posted on an English surf company web site that was very negative about the wave magnet. That guy had no idea at all about what makes a surfboard perform. These boards are really suited for older guys but I tell you what if you are finding it a bit harder getting waves I absolutely recommend the wave magnets as unreal all rounders that are suited to smaller waves but still perform really well on those "heart in your throat" days. I actually go looking for them now. I am 60 next week and I owe a lot to Global Surf the Super Fish and now the Mighty Wave Magnet. Thank the shaper who came up with this board will you ! I can tell he gave this board a lot of thought. I only wonder how it would go as a quad. Cheers from South Coast OZ.

Ive had this board for nearly a year now and got it for a bigger wave travel board. i managed to get some great waves in France and Spain last year and Sri lanka this March/April. Ive also used it on big windy days at fistral and can say that it really gives you confidence to catch some big waves, holds well and paddles great. Im no Kelly Slater but if you want to catch a bigger wave and make the drop and wave this is a great board for your quiver. Ive surfed the 7ft 2 in heavy 8-10ft surf and it went great. Looking forward to taking it on my travels later in the year.

I really enjoyed riding this board today, hence my review. I am 89 kgs and was riding the 8'0. It paddles fast I could get on about 85% of the waves the Longboarders were getting but once I was up and riding I took off. This is a fast board, it turns really well. I can't wait for more winter swells to come and this board will be getting a lot of use.
