Aloha's own team of surfers have incorporated this particular model into their quivers. Ultimately the boards available on the rack are the exact same boards used in competition by the pros.
The AF1 Tour allows you to explore the most critical sections of the wave and is the essential board for the committed surfer looking to maximize their performance.
"very responsive, loose & still a lot to try in more waves!!! very happy!"

- SLXC
- SLXC EPOXY TECHNOLOGY
The stringerless carbon railed SLXC is our lightest and high performance method of hand building vacuum bagged boards.
CNC milled from the shapers files and hand built, these boards provide the quickest response to directional changes of any board we build and are the lightest boards too.
Quick response - The combination of stringer removal, carbon biaxial rails and biaxial deck fibers keep surfboard from twisting in a turn keeping the flex nose to tail. This makes the boards feel very fast and alive under your feet and create massive amount of drive off the bottom and pop off the lip.You can find out more about GSI's surfboard construction on our surfboard technologies page

Forrest Roberts from Virginia, USA says:
Aloha international team rider Forrest Roberts on the AF1: "The AF1 surfed exactly how I expected, quick and fast like a high performance short board should. The overall shape is one of my all time favorites with the rounded thumb like tail. This board has the speed and length I needed when surfing chest to well overhead surf. This board handles amazing going vertical and above the lip as well. The AF1 is a must have in the quiver."

Tyler Balak from Virginia, USA says:
A good shortboard for waves with some push up to the double overhead range. The AF1 is very responsive and quick with good hold for rail turns. I like this board in point break waves for connecting turns.

John Streit from Virginia , USA says:
While I haven't ridden the SLXC version of this template (only the poly AF1 Pro), this board fits the above description: a true high-performance board for tight, vertical power surfing. Being a heavier guy (200 lbs), I rode the 6'4 x 18 3/4 x 2 3/8 and really enjoyed the rail-to-rail responsiveness and hold through tight turns. It releases well off the top, but requires the rider to really crank it (which is a good thing!). This is definitely a board for the upper-intermediate to advanced surfer compared to the Bean and the other hybrid model Aloha offers. Juicy waves and a rider who knows how to generate his/her own speed really makes this board turn on. A great quiver selection when there's solid swell in the water!
