The AF1 Tour is geared towards high performance surfing for the intermediate-to-advanced surfer. The design elements in this board; such as the smooth progressive rocker, refined rail volume and foil, and the performance outline, have been fine tuned to meet the demands of the modern day pro surfer.
Aloha's own team of surfers including; Richie Lovett, Jay Quinn, Matt Bemrose, Davey Vlugg, Zahn Foxton, plus a host of other world class surfers, have incorporated this particular model into their competition quivers. Ultimately the boards available on the rack are the exact same boards used in competition by the pros.
The extreme lightweight construction of this board called SLXC, is what sets it apart form other performance Shortboards on the market. We substituted the stringer with a perimeter biaxial carbon rail, and also used an EPS core and a biaxial epoxy deck layup. Removing the stinger allows the board to flex more naturally to fit the contours of the wave through turns, while the biaxial deck glass and perimeter carbon rail produce a 'snap back' affect for amazing response and pop.
The AF1 Tour allows you to explore the most critical sections of the wave, and is the essential board for the committed surfer looking to maximise their performance.
Available exclusively in high performance, super light SLXC stringerless carbon biaxial epoxy layups for 2011.
