ANACAPA PRO STANDARD BOARD INFO
This board is a slightly retuned typical pro surfer's board. Designed with small to medium waves in mind it features a flat entry rocker but with some lift in the tail rocker to make sure the maneuverability of the board at speed is smooth and maintainable.
A single concave keeps the board alive on the face of the wave. The wider than normal nose and tail gives you a good sized platform to work with.
You should find this board really works well for you if you have been riding shortboards for a while and just want something with a bit more life. There is a size to suit everyone wanting to ride a Shortboard.
The Pro Standard is made of traditional Foam and Fiberglass construction. It is computer cut, hand finished, glassed, and then sanded to our Pro-Finish to give you the highest quality board we can make.

Al Merrick describes the features of the Anacpa Pro Standard
CONSUMERS REVIEWS FOR THE ANACAPA PRO STANDARD

shane'o from vic, aust says:

Just bought the pro-standard 6'3" model- got it on special, $200aus off retail! Its a great board, fast, paddles really well and feels solid yet loose on the wave. I even had guys commenting on it in the water.. Surfed from 2ft to 5ft+ on it and its been great even on a head high chopped out day, i was having way more fun than i usually would, the extra volume gets you across the flat sections yet it sticks to the face nicely in the sucky bits and really flies.

dan breen from nsw, australia says:

Love your work Al! A very nice nice board that paddles well and turns even better! Mate you really hit the nail on the head with this one!

Paora Joseph from Taranaki, New Zealand says:

Awesome! I brought the Pro Standard 6'6" two days ago and have had a couple of excellent sessions since. Both sessions have been 5ft reef breaks. I rode my friends Channel Island flyer a month back and decided that I wanted an Al Merrick board but could not afford a Channel Island shaped model. Well this is as good as my friends flyer II. Fast and stable from almost vertical take offs, great for digging in the rail for cutbacks and for snapping it off the lip. Haven't pulled off an arial yet but I have more sessions to look forward to. Paddling is probably a little bit better with the glider, but hey Im 43years and figure that you just have to stay fit. Thanks Anacapa, Al and those guys working hard in the Cobra factory. Look forward to buying another model when I get some more cash. Cheers Paora (New Zealand)

6'3 pro standard.good board. I was suprised considering the low price.I would buy another in a minute.

Richard Ewing from California, United States says:

I recently got a 5'11" Pro Standard and it has been my favorite board i've ever ridden. I haven't ridden anything over head high on it, but in everything else it feels solid for such a small board and then gets loose exactly when I need it to. It has good paddle speed and I can generally catch any wave I want. Thanks for making such an awesome board!

tom white from nsw, australia says:

the pro standard is one of the best boards i have ridden i rode it a about 4 ft tea tree bay noosa and it was excellent so fast ausome board

Tony from California, USA says:

I was curious to see how life after Channel Islands would be and discovered it is alive and well in the Anacapa line. I tried the 6'3" Pro standard in good 6-8' beach break with the K-3 fins and the board was quick, stable and smooth. I was really impressed with this particular board and the single concave makes it loose and lively. Fluid Ski/Surf is the only shop in my area to carry this line and the price was much lower than Al's previous line WITHOUT sacrificing performance. Go figure!

Jeff Miller from California, USA says:

I just rode the 6'3" Pro Standard for the first time at 4-6 foot Rincon and it went great. Super fast down the line and quick off the top. It felt great under my feet. Amped!

SAm WIldt from SC, us says:

Just bought the 6'1 PS. felt great in fast waist high wedges. IT needs a head high wave to really turn it on i feel. great board for the price.
