Now that I got the Hang of the 'Contour Stringer' I'm ready to post the review .... Well ... WOW .. simple as that ... one word describes the way the board reacts, turns, takes off, even the Beavertail fin is fantastic .. The problem I had with board is that I came from a classic noserider model to this one is that I tried to surf it like a classic noserider .. which isn't really what this board is all about .. the turns are short, transitions are fluid & the manouvres are fast that after i got the hang of the board it put a smile on my face ... I've surfed it as a single fin, Quad, even the 1+2 set-up was good .. And OK .. once you get on the nose of the board it feels like a classic one .. so one word says says it all ... WOW .. thumbs up ..

I tried (and later bought) this board yesterday at the San Juan, Puerto Rico surf beach (La 8). You had this, and several other boards as samples at the beach. I borrowed it out in the lineup from another guy, and what a fun surf it turned out to be!! This board turns on a dime, and the rail to rail response/feel is smooth and positive. The concave allows it to develope speed down the line, and putting it back on a rail to do a turn is where this design comes together: nice flowing turns, no rail catching whatsoever, just seemless performance, feel and response!! It is also a very stable board, so I would say it makes for a great all around board, regardless of skill level, and the various possible fin configurations should allow any surfer to set up the fins for different conditions and riding styles. Aloha, and many thanks!!

I have surfed many boards in my 45 years of surfing and have won many contests. Sometimes I can feel a bit jaded when I try new boards because I'm always looking for something that is truely different and exciting. Most of the time what I get is the same-old-same-old. I remember the first time I rode a Steve Liss fish in 1970 and was blown away by how different it rode compared to any board I'd ever ridden before. Not only did it perform maneuvers in an exciting new way but in many instances it did things better and responded quicker under my feet. This is the exact same feeling i got when I rode the Modern contour stringer for the first time. I was utterly blown away by its responsive liveliness and the way it sprang out of a turn especially in larger waves. I like it best with the FCS stretch-quad fin set, no center fin (quad set up). It is my board of choice today.
