The Seaglass Project Tuna
Find a dealer
The Tunas are designed to have just the right blend of flex, rail and bottom contours constructed with the most modern materials to increase floatation and enhance performance.

The Tuna's rocker profile is very flat so it is easy to catch waves. The combination of the curves and hard rails holds the board into the wave face. Being finless means minimal drag, which allows maximum speed even on the smallest waves. With the Tuna in your quiver you will look at the surf in a more three dimensional way. Seeing waves that are fun and ripable where you did not see them before. It will truly open your mind and your surfing.

The Tuna models are the ultimate in freedom surfing.

"Goes like a dream. Great fun in small surf as well as the bigger stuff. It's nothing like I've ever ridden before. A perfect addition to any quiver."

my local surf shop only carries 6'2 but i insisted to have a 5'3. after 6 months of waiting, i finally got it in hand. the first time i took it out for a ride was frustrating. was like being a beginner to surfing again. but the more you surf with this beauty, the more fun you're gonna get. i learn from every single wave i've ridden. it's truly addicting. people said alaia is no good to be ridden in HK, but i have to say this tuna is absolutely fun in any kinda waves you can get. thankyou Tom for this amazing design. it can also be hung up on my wall as an art piece if i dun take it out for a spin!

Riding the Tuna was my first experience surfing a finless surfboard, and I got to say, it is absolutely addicting! This challenges everything you thought you knew about how to ride waves. Having ridden only traditional surfboards with at least one fin under my back foot, the first takeoff on the Tuna was a total slide out-to-spill, as I tried to drive off my back foot. As I got more waves, I discovered how to glide with the flow of the wave, as well as how to use the beveled rails and concave to draw lines. The result was a surprisingly fast, smooth ride. As the fundamentals became mastered, an insane amount of new tricks became possible: pop shove-its, 360 and 540 spinners, lipslides and floaters. I find this board works best on fat, rolling mushy waves - something forgiving with lots of shoulder. Despite its small size and narrowness, this thing planes like a dream due to the wide tail and extremely low rocker. The Tuna has me hooked on finless surfing! Check out the Surf & Adventure blog for our own video of us trying the Tuna for the first time, as well as Seaglass Project team rider Shaun Devine's take on the board: and

Mark Shotwell from California, United States says:

So, I had a week off planned and decided it was a good time to try finless surfing. I was mesmerized by the videos I saw of guys surfing this board. I can now safely say that everything Tom Wegener said in his video on The Seaglass Project is true. I am beyond stoked and am completely rethinking what good surfing feels and looks like. I have surfed for 20 years and surf funny looking fishes and weird longboards. The Seaglass Project board gets into waves better than a fish and then once I am up--a whole new world opens up. One week in and I am a total convert. Sliding down the line--forward, sideways, backwards--woo hoo! Hitting floaters and sliding further across the lip than seems possible. And then there is the speed---holy moly!! On top of everything else, GSI shipped it to my house for free and my local shop got a credit for me buying it through a link on their website. As soon as I can, I want to post a video for Tom to see. If you could pass on my kind words to him. He has done something really wonderful here.

Wow and Wow again ,I couldn't wait to pick up my new Seaglass this morning ,and thought here goes a couple of weeks of falling off and starting to surf again ,but to my surprise it is easy to paddle and duck diving was also a breeze,I think Tom has found the essence of surfing again and just gliding over section's that normaly you would have to pump most boards a bit this one you just lift your feet and it glides over the white water with very little effort, my first turn was so fast i wasn't sure weather I turned or not ,and boy when you hit the sweet spot in the pocket you are just riding a magic carpet ,while I was out three guys paddled over to me and said what are you on ,after showing them they just freaked,so thanks Tom for all your hard work and research into one hell of a rolla coaster ride ,guys you have got to try this one .Cameron from Noosaville

The TUNA is a BLAST to ride. You can do just about anything you can think of on this board: sliding, spinning, trim, shuv it, get barrelled and more!! Catches waves super easy. Every surf now, I bring two boards to the beach, the TUNA and my shortboard. You have to expirence one for yourself!!

Matt from Victoria, Australia says:

I'm really happy that Tom has developed this board to this advanced stage. I have tried his original Paulownia Wood Alaia's which are wonderful-only I found it really challenging to catch waves. This Tuna-the 6'2, paddles into waves easier than my current shortboard but I get the experience of the Alaia. I've only had a few surfs and I'm learning each time but I'm already doing floaters and trimming down the line. It's kind of like snowboarding and learning to use your rail. Looking forward to mastering spins and turns. fun in any size surf -I've surfed it up to head high and a half. Thanks Tom.
