I was lucky enough to win this board in a writing contest by GSI. I am 6'4", 220 and elected for the 6'4". I usually ride a 6'7 and 6'9 thruster. I am not saying this because I won... sincerely, the single, most fun board I have ever owned. I placed the fins all the way back because up front was a little too loose. If this is your first fish, be patient, it takes a few times to figure it out. Enjoy!

Learned to surf on walden's long boards. Wanted something shorter and was recommended this by walden himself via e-mail. Have not been disappointed. Great on the big days and capable on smaller days when the short would normally be stuck on a wall. Appreciate all the people over at soundwaves that made this choice easy.

Hey Chris, Just wanted to drop you a line about that ‘board I chose – the Walden Magic Fish. I picked it up from Watto’s on Friday morning, & typically – new board = no swell! Put the “board & my dog in the car & took her for a run to PB.( Av. was a mill-pond ) 2nd track had a tiny, but perfect right about 6 inches to 1 foot peeling off a perfect bank, so I thought I’d get the ‘board wet. Bugger me!! I had an unreal 2 hr session. That thing paddles like a mal & turns on a 5c piece with no loss of speed. Fantastic. (Don't forget I'm a touch under 6 foot & weigh 80kg !) (I told the crew about the surf & the way the board went, & they all think I’m tripp’n!) Surfed it again on Sunday morning - a couple of feet bit bigger with more push.(I could’ve surfed my normal shorty but chose to take the fish out again.) Another unreal session. You were right - I’m stoked with this choice of board, & am recommending them to all those that will listen. For a bit of performance surf

I am 6'8" 100kg intermediate surfer who wanted to move from an 8'2" mini mal to something a bit quicker/easier to move. Key for me was catching a range of waves from 1' to 6'. I have found this board to be awesome. It gives me the same flotation as my 8' board but is quick as. Just spent time on the Goldy and it caught 1 footers no problems. Duck diving in the bigger stuff is fine, although you have to hold on because it wants to shoot out of the water! Anyone in my situation should not hesitate to get this board, you will have a ball.

My first fish and it is perfect! It goes as fast as you want it to make it, loose, but skatey! It's like riding a 4 foot mini ramp in your backyard when everything is clicking! This board has opened my eyes to how far I can push my surfing.

This Surfboard is fun fun fun.... I was dominating out there at Burliegh... throwing buckets of water on every turn... fast, loose and big sweet spot!!!

I've got the 6'-4", and it's awesome. I was riding an 8-0 longboard shape and a 7-0 funshape and a 6-8 standard shortboard, but wanted a "shortboard" with some width. This board did the trick! It does carving cutbacks AND quick snaps too. It's VERY responsive--if you can think it, the board can do it. ~Randy
