Everyone who knows me knows I can't resist trying something new! My latest obsession is the 9'6" SLX Carbon Rail Walden! This board is a ridiculous wave magnet! I love it! Today's surf was shoulder high and peeling but a little bit fat...and I was collecting on this thing! The paddle position is perfect. With the surf a little fat and a bounce off the cliff - on a lot of boards you might have to get forward for paddling then back-peddle once the bottom dropped out. But not on Walden! I was gliding in early and set up BEFORE the bottom dropped out. That board is so responsive and it accelerates down the line insane. AND it noserides unreal! If I were a good noserider - it would have been even better...but it held me in perfect trim and felt really natural. It was begging me to trip my way up there...The SLX Carbon responds fantastically and feels really good under my feet. I like it as a single fin. Great session. Killer board. Thanks Steve W. Amazing work.
